The American debut of British super middleweight prospect George Groves (9-0, 7KOs) is finally set. Groves will face Mexican Alfredo Contreras (11-7-1) on the Juan Manuel Marquez-Juan Diaz undercard on July 31 at the Mandalay Bay. Groves wants to make a statement to the American boxing fans.

"I want to put on a show, be my very best and win over fans Stateside," Groves told Sky Sports. "The US have some very promising super middleweights starting to break through, it's my job to show they won't be having it all their own way in years to come on the biggest stage. Golden Boy promotions have great faith in me, I plan to repay them with dazzling performances."

What's even more interesting will be the appearance of WBA heavyweight champion David Haye at the show. Groves is promoted in the UK by Haye's company, Hayemaker promotions. Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer has confirmed to Sky Sports that Haye, along with his manager/trainer Adam Booth, will be working the corner for Groves.

"In George Groves' corner is going to be no other than the heavyweight champion of the world, David Haye, so it's going to be an exciting added attraction to have David and George Groves there at the Mandalay Bay," said Schaefer.
