WBA super middleweight champion George Groves (27-3, 20 KOs) is predicting a dramatic ending to his upcoming unification with IBO champ Chris Eubank Sr. (26-1, 20 KOs).
The Groves vs. Eubank showdown is a semi-final bout in the World Boxing Super Series tournament.
The fight is less than three weeks away, taking place on February 17th at the Manchester Arena.
Since hiring Shane McGuigan to be his head trainer, Groves has changed his career around.
Groves has won eight of his last nine fights, with his last defeat coming at the hands of then WBC super middleweight champion Badou Jack by way of a split decision in September 2015.
He knocked out Jamie Cox in the fourth round of their WBSS opener last fall.
As the fight with Eubank draws closer, Groves is growing in confidence and truly believes that Eubank Jr. will never see the final bell of the contest.
"I had a rocky couple of years after," Groves told scribe Nick Parkinson. "A couple of losses and a couple of dodgy performances. Fortunately for me a lot of people focus on that and take little notice of my form of late.
"I think that lately I am unstoppable. My distance control is fantastic, my reach is spot on, my jab is a lot faster than his. These are all things that will cause Junior nightmares and because of that, I believe it will be a comfortable fight. Once I find my range, once I kick in, there will be a lot of posturing from him a lot of holding from him but I am going to ice him. I believe he will be out cold.
"When you talk about genetics, sure I know his dad boxed but that was well before my time and there's no reason to get the laptop out and watch Senior against some little known Belgian or other fighter."
