WBC mandatory challenger George Groves has hit back at promoter Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sport. Hearn recently questioned Groves' business decision to bypass and rematch offer with James DeGale in favor of a smaller sum for a crack at WBC super middleweight champion Anthony Dirrell.

Hearn clamed Groves' financial requirements for a DeGale rematch were "unreasonable." Groves decisioned DeGale several years ago.

Groves disputes some of the banter coming from Hearn and directs him to get his father, Barry Hearn, to present him with a real offer.

"So Eddie Hearn continues his waffle. Firstly admirable Carl [Froch] gives up his world title for 'stablemate' James because he likes him. I thought that was so you have a worthwhile fight for your O2 Arena show. In fact, I heard [James DeGale] doesn't have a contract with you? Stop talking my business! Or at least if you do get it right! Get daddy to [make] me a sensible offer," Groves said to Sportlobster.com. "

"And you owned me with your tweet? I've been in boxing longer than you. When I won my Commonwealth title you was still selling programs at the darts."
