Boris Grinberg, the former manager of Sultan Ibragimov, had advised Tomasz Adamek to avoid the fight with WBO/IBF/IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko. Adamek returns in April against Kevin McBride, but he also signed a contract to face either of the Klitschko brothers in September. If Wladimir beats Dereck Chisora on April 30, he is the logical choice to face Adamek. If he gets beat or suffers an injury, then older brother Vitali, the current WBC champion, would take his place in the fight.
Instead of fighting a Klitschko, Grinberg would like to see Adamek go after WBA champion David Haye. Adamek and Haye are smaller heavyweights who came up from the cruiserweight division.
"Adamek is a very good boxer, but he's not heavyweight. He has nothing to beat either of the brothers. How he can do it? Where will find the resources? In what area is he better than Klitschko? There can only be one outcome. The fight will be interesting, but unfortunately one-sided, with either Vitali or Wladimir. If I was on Adamek's team, I would try to arrange a bout with David Haye," Grinberg said.
