DANNY Green made an impressive return to the boxing ring, knocking out fellow Australian Jason DeLisle in round nine of their light-heavyweight bout at Challenge Stadium in Perth.

Green, in his first fight since being beaten by Anthony Mundine in May, dominated from the start before unleashing a vicious combination to finish off DeLisle.

Making the step up to light heavyweight, Green looked sharp from the first bell, opening a nasty cut over DeLisle's eye in the third round with a straight left.

DeLisle, with the nickname of The Nailer courtesy of his day job as a carpenter in Sydney, fought bravely but never looked like troubling the home town fighter.

A rematch with Mundine may be around the corner, both camps are interested in the fight and negotiations have taken place.
