The AAP reports that a rematch between Danny Green and Anthony Mundine is unlikely to happen. Green has announced that he will never return to the super middleweight division because he is barely able to make the weight. Green is planning to continue his career as a light heavyweight, while Mundine has no future plans to move up in weight.
Mundine's 2006 decision win over Green in Sydney was one of the biggest boxing events in Australian history. Both camps were willing to try and work towards a rematch.
Green's first bout at the light heavyweight level will be against Paul Murdoch at Melbourne's State Netball Centre on Sunday. Mundine returns on March 7 at the Entertainment Centre in Sydney, when he meets Sam Soliman in a rematch with the vacant WBA super middleweight title at stake.
