Z ”The Dream” Gorres has pulled out of his scheduled bout against Jonathan Perez at the WBO Convention in San Juan, Puerto Rico on October 31.

Well-known boxing manager and promoter Sammy Gello-ani of the ALA Gym has sent an email to WBO president Francisco “Paco” Valcarcel informing him that Gorres “sprained his wrist during his sparring session today” which would certainly affect his training period prior to the scheduled bout.

Gello-ani told the WBO president they had no choice but to cancel the bout “in order for him to recuperate.”

Perez has a record of 13-2 with 10 knockouts.  Gorres is coming off a smashing eighth round TKO over former world light flyweight champion Eric Ortiz in the World Cup between the Philippines and Mexico last August 11 in Sacramento, California in an IBF title eliminator.

The Gorres win put him in line for a title shot at Dimitri Kirlov who won the vacant crown with a unanimous twelve round decision over former US Olympian Jose Navarro in Moscow last Sunday. Gorres has a record of 27-2-1 with15 knockouts while Kirilov’s record is 29-3 with 9 knockouts.
