Gorres in Crucial Title Eliminator

Z “The Dream” Gorres, one of the country’s most promising young fighters battles Thailand’s WBO Asia Pacific No. 1 flyweight Wisanu Pornobnum in a crucial title eliminator at the Mandaue Sports Complex on October 29.

Gorres has been guaranteed a title shot against the winner of the OPBF title fight between reigning super flyweight champion Msayuki Arinaga and former champion Waenpetch Chuwatana early next year but must win over Pornobnum to further his career and a future world title shot.

Gorres put on a spectacular showing when he scored a first round knockout over highly touted Glenn Donaire on the under-card of the Manny Pacquiao-Erik Morales showdown in Las Vegas last March 19 but was unable to put away shifty Deeeden Kengkarun the former Pan Asia Boxing Association champion last July 30 in Manila and was criticized for his performance.
