World rated OPBF No.1 super flyweight "The Dream" Gorres and WBO Asia Pacific junior lightweight champion Czar Amonsot have been impressive in sparring at the Wild Card Gym of famed trainer Freddie Roach in preparation for a Las Vegas fight card of Guilty Promotions on February 3.
Gorres, the flashy southpaw who will clash with Thailand's Waenpetch Chuwatana for the OPBF title in March is scheduled to fight Jose Alfredo Tirado, the same Mexican who lost a four round technical decision to world-rated Filipino flyweight Diosdado Gabi last September 3 in Stockton. Gabi won a close decision on the scorecards of the judges after the fight was stopped when Gabi suffered a nasty cut due to an accidental headbutt.
Southpaw Amonsot who has been particularly impressive in his workouts in LA is scheduled to clash with Mexican Antonio Wong who has a record of 7 knockouts in 11 wins with 5 losses and 1 draw.
Viva Sports will telecast the fights of Gorres and Amonsot on a delayed basis on its top rated weekly boxing show "The Main Event" on Sundays at 1:00 p.m. over RPN 9.
Wong has won his last two fights against solid opponents. He scored a first round TKO over Daniel Gonzalez on May 27 last year and then scored a split decision victory over Alejandro Pena on September 2.
