BoxingScene.com recently sat down with WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman who was in Los Angeles this past weekend to take in the Gennady Golovkin-Willie Monroe and Román Gonzalez-Edgar Sosa fights at The Forum.
Sulaiman was impressed with both fighters and had this to say about Golovkin's performance, "He was formidable. He has as he says 'Mexican Style'. He comes forward which allows him to get hit as he gets his punches in. I think Golovkin is going through a great moment. He is one of the best champions in the whole world right now."
As for Gonzalez (43-0, 37KOs), Sulaiman had high praise for the Nicaraguan as well and said that the fight that needs to happen for the fans - is a rematch against Juan Francisco "Gallo" Estrada (32-2, 23KOs).
"It is a big fight. It is a rematch. Estrada has certainly been the toughest fighter Chocolatito has fought. I think it would be a great fight for the fans. We are open to it. As I said before we want the best fights to happen," Sulaiman told BoxingScene.com.
