Mexican promoter Pepe Gomez of Cancun Boxing recently discussed the fall clash between Floyd Mayweather (44-0, 26KOs) and WBC/WBA 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez (42-0-1, 30KOs). The big fight is going to happen on September 14th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
Gomez says Canelo, 22-years-old, is facing Mayweather too soon, but also calls it the opportunity of a lifetime.
"This is a fight that you can not refuse. Obviously everyone is betting on Mayweather, who will be the logical choice. Saul has great qualities, but I think that it is too soon to face Mayweather. Not for nothing, Mayweather is the best fighter in the world. Anyway, a fight like this can not be rejected. It should be taken at all costs.
