According to Jeff Wald, who promotes Contender star Alfonso Gomez (18-3-2, 8KOs), the financial terms have agreed upon to fight WBA welterweight champion Miguel Cotto (31-0, 25KOs) on April 12 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

As we recently reported a few days ago, Gomez's manager Gary Gittelson did not accept the financial terms that were presented for the fight. It appears the situation has been resolved and the fight is close to being a done deal.

"The fight will be done. There is no problem with Top Rank. There is no problem with Gary Gittelson. The financial terms have been agreed upon," Wald said to BoxingScene.com.

As noted last week, Cotto's promoter Bob Arum of Top Rank, is looking at the opening co-feature to be a rematch between WBO junior welterweight champion Ricardo Torres and Kendall Holt.
