BoxingScene.com has been advised that Gabe Rosado (21-5, 13KOs) is the lead candidate, at the moment, to fight WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (24-0, 21KOs) in an HBO televised fight on January 19th at New York's Madison Square Garden. The boxer under consideration is Fernando Guerrero (25-1, 19KOs).

Golovkin-Rosado has fireworks written all over it and the match will likely end within the twelve round distance. Rosado has won his last seven fights and emerged as one of the most feared junior middleweights in the sport. Guerrero, now trained by Virgil Hunter, is still rebuilding after the shocking knockout loss to Grady Brewer last June.

The show January show will be co-promoted by K2 Promotions and Top Rank, who already finalized Orlando Salido vs. Mikey Garcia for the card.
