The much hyped match-up between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor has come and gone and now the focus of the fight world shifts to the September 16th showdown in Las Vegas between Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (49-1-1, 34KOs) and Gennady Golovkin (37-0, 33 KOs).
This past weekend Mayweather scored a tenth round technical stoppage of McGregor.
Coming into this fight, this event was receiving the lion's share of the media attention in the fight game. Oscar De La Hoya, the head of Golden Boy Promotions, was a particularly loud critic of this bout and he hasn't let up in his criticism of it.
But Tom Loeffler, who represents Golovkin, has a different tact on what took place this weekend, telling reporters - "We were all convinced (Mayweather) was going to win, we were just hoping it wouldn't be a disaster where people were going to say, 'We're never going to buy another pay-per-view.' I'm sure there were a lot of disappointed Irish fans that went up to Vegas but at least fans got some entertainment out of it."
The fight, while not great, has generally received pretty good reviews, overall.
"It went ten rounds so I don't think it's going to hurt this event,'' opined Loeffler, who has been diplomatic in regards to Mayweather-McGregor and the possible impact it will have on his show.
"We weren't negative on that event... we made it clear that this is the real boxing match and that was a spectacle. If they want to promote that fight it was the most popular MMA fighter against the most popular boxer and if that's something, you shouldn't sell it as a real competitive fight.
"But we're happy that it wasn't a disaster where people would be down on buying this fight September 16th."
