Philippine flyweight boxer Roilo Golez (13-7, 5KOs) trained at the Nuevo Jordan Gym in Mexico and even bumped into his opponent, IBF International champion Edgar Sosa (43-7, 26KOs), who was leaving the gym as Golez arrived. The meeting was pleasant with both boxers shaking hands. They collide this Saturday night in Mexico City.
The southpaw said that he had been having problems with the weather - “in Manila there’s a lot of heat and here it’s very cold."
His auxiliary trainer, the former national featherweight champion Enrique Garcia, said the weather in Mexico City was very cold. That’s why Roilo wore winter clothing on his way to the gym where he warmed up with several exercises and then hit the punching bag, speed bag, and displayed very fast and very skillful movements.
Golez’ manager Brico Santring, said "Sosa is a great fighter, but Golez will give him a great fight and he'll put on a great performance."
He also added that Golez knows what it takes to win on foreign soil, as he defeated Thai boxer Sor Tanapinoyo last July in Thailand.
