'LA Fight Club' begins it's 2017 season this Friday from the familiar haunts of the Belasco Theater in downtown Los Angeles. It will be a busy campaign for Golden Boy Promotions, which just recently signed a deal with ESPN to televise a series of cards on their various platforms for the next couple of years.

This series (which is televised on EstrellaTV and streamed on Ring TV Live) is one that  mainly focuses on their young prospects.

Robert Diaz, the head matchmaker for Golden Boy says he's ready to get things kicked off - "We're excited with our two young Texans, (Joshua) Franco and (Hector) Tanajara Jr. Franco, every time you step him up in a tougher fight, it's like he shows more."

"So this will be his first eight-rounder, he'll be the main event. I think there will be one more eight rounder and then we'll go to ten. We're going to go quick, according to the team, the trainer( Robert Garcia), the management, everybody, we really think we can start moving his way up in the rankings and fight for a regional title before the end of the year."

Franco, a super flyweight hopeful with a record of 8-0(4 KO's) is matched versus Victor Pasillas(8-6-2/5 KO's).

On this card is his stablemate, Tanajara, who also hails from San Antonio. The 20-year old lightweight has a record of 7-0(4 KO's).

"With Tanajara, it may be his last six rounder, going in versus a tough kid from Mexico(Baltazar Ramirez),''said Diaz.

Rounding out this show, Diaz stated,"Ryan Garcia is opening up the television portion. Ryan, I see a lot of future, he's very marketable and a very charming young kid. David Mijares will be in versus Evinciii Dixon who just had a draw in his last fight out here in Los Angles and Jonathan Navarro we're bringing him back in the ring. Hopefully after the last fight he worked on some things. I expect some explosion from Navarro. We're excited."
