While the main event for December 17th at the Forum in Inglewood, California is set with Orlando Salido facing Takashi Miura for the WBC interim super featherweight title, work still has to be done to round out the rest of this HBO telecast.
As it relates to junior welterweight contender, Antonio Orozco (25-0, 16KOs), who is being considered for this show, Eric Gomez, the president of Golden Boy Promotions told BoxingScene.com:
"He still has to get a clearance from the doctor. He suffered some really, really bad cuts. He started training but no sparring. Once he gets clearance he can fight again but right now the cuts are still tender."
Back on July 30th at the Fantasy Springs Casino, Orozco had a rough go of it in coming out victorious against Abner Lopez."
There is the potential for this card in December to be a triple-header.
"We're still working on it with Peter Nelson( the head of HBO Sports) and I'm going to have another conversations with him later today,"Gomez said on Thursday afternoon.
