Former champion Glen Johnson (46-11-2, 31KOs) is looking at his last shot at glory when he collides with the face of the next generation, WBC light heavyweight champion Chad Dawson (25-0, 17KOs). The bout will be televised by Showtime on April 12 from the St. Pete's Times Forum in Tampa, Florida.

Johnson believes Dawson is the future of the 175-pound division, but only a future where Johnson is no longer fighting at the weight.

"It's a great match-up. He has fast hands, he's a southpaw, he's young. They say that he's the future of the division, and he just might be, but I am the present right now," said Johnson to CMC.

Johnson returns for a tuneup on January 5 in Atlantic City against Mike Culbert. The bout takes place on the undercard to Paulie Malignaggi's mandatory defense of his IBF 140-pound title.

Johnson was originally scheduled to fight another former champion in November, Reggie Johnson. Reggie pulled out with a injury, but Glen thinks he was never injured - just scared.

"Well, Reggie didn't get hurt, he got scared. We are past that now. This (Culbert bout) will be a stay busy fight," Johnson said.
