IBF #2 heavyweight contender Vyacheslav Glazkov (17-0-1, 11 KOs) added some details to his rumored fight against former WBA heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin, while discussing a coming match-up between Wladimir Klitschko and Alex Leapai at the Inter TV studio in Kiev, Ukraine. Glazkov was earlier reported to be in negotiations with Team Povetkin for a collision in early June; however, this buzz was dismissed by Povetkin's promoter Andrey Ryabinskiy.
"Word is that Povetkin's next opponent will be Manuel Charr. Personally, I would love fighting such a strong fighter as Povetkin myself, but negotiations weren't successful as I was told by my Russian co-promoter Kirill Pchelnikov, because Alexander's handlers had chosen another option. I think this fight [with Charr] will definitely happen", commented Glazkov.
Team Povetkin will reportedly announce Alexander's next opponent in the coming week.
