According to WBA junior flyweight champion Giovanni Segura (21-1, 17KOs), his title defense against Filipino Sonny Boy Jaro (30-7-5, 19KOs) is set for November 21 in Merida, Yucatán, Mexico. Jaro returns from two back to back knockout wins after losing a decision to WBC champion Edgar Sosa in September 2008. Segura returns from a semi-controversial stoppage win over another Filipino fighter, Juanito Rubillar. The fight was controversial because adviser Michael Koncz threw in the towel for Rubillar in the sixth round of their July fight, and although Rubillar was losing, he did not appear to be in any serious trouble.
