BoxingScene.com has been advised by Giovani Segura's associate Joseph Gaxiola, that the former 108 pound Ring Magazine champion will make his return to the ring on May 28th in Mexico. The venue and his opponent have yet to be determined.
The fight will take place in the flyweight division. Segura had previously announced that his third round knockout of Ivan Calderon in their April 2nd rematch would be his final fight at 108 pounds. Segura had previously defeated Calderon via knockout in Puerto Rico last year in a fight that won BoxingScene's 2010 fight of the year honors.
Segura's upcoming fight will most likely be a stay busy fight as it come less than 2 months after the Calderon fight. Segura hopes to land a big fight by the end of the summer.
