Top rated super middleweight contender Gilberto “Zurdo” Ramirez (32-0, 24 KO’s) has wished Julio Cesar Chávez Jr. (49-2-1, 32 KO's) a speedy recovery because...well, because....well...he wants to fight him down the road.

The two fighters were once stablemates under Top Rank. Chavez Jr. left Top Rank earlier this year and aligned himself with manager Al Haymon and his Premier Boxing Champions series.

During an interview with Boxeo Mexicano, the fighter from Mazatlan, Sinaloa pledged:

"I wish for Chavez Jr. to have a great comeback and I hope that he fights soon, because I'm interested in fighting him and it would be a really exciting match that all the Mexican fans would love to see!”

During the next year, “Zurdo” Ramirez is determined to fulfill one of his biggest goals.  To become the very first super middleweight champion from Mexico. Ramirez is the WBO's top rated contender and nearing a crack at champion Arthur Abraham.

Chavez, who is still recovering from a bad hand injury that required surgery, wants to fight WBC champion Badou Jack.

Next month, Ramirez will have sturdy test in front of him in the shape of Germany's Gevorg Khatchikian (31-1, 11 KO’s). Ramirez's NABF super middleweight championship on the line. The fight will take place on November 20th at the Cosmopolitan Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
