Gerry Penalosa-Eric Morel Purse Bid Set For January 12

The WBO has set the purse bid date of January 12 for the fight between Filipino bantamweight champion Gerry Penalosa and mandatory challenger Eric Morel of Mexico. The bid will start at $100,000 dollars and takes place at the WBO headquarters, 11am, in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

Over the last few weeks, the two sides have had trouble reaching a deal. Morel's promoters, Puerto Rico Best Boxing, reached out to the WBO to schedule a purse bid date.
