George Groves (25-3, 18 KOs) is less than two weeks away from his fourth world title shot.

On May 27th, Groves will face once-beaten Fedor Chudinov for the vacant WBA super middleweight title. Groves had three world title opportunities in the past - with two knockout losses to Carl Froch and a close points defeat to Badou Jack.

Groves realizes that a victory would setup a very lucrative unification with IBF champion James DeGale (23-1, 14 KOs)

The London fighter handed DeGale the first and only blemish on his record with a close twelve round decision victory in 2011. Back then both boxers were under contract with Frank Warren. Groves is now a part of Sauerland Event, and DeGale is technically a free agent although he may continue his relationship with Eddie Hearn of Matchroom.

DeGale has been out of the ring since January. The Olympic gold medal winner is recovering from multiple injuries that he sustained during a grueling twelve round draw with Badou Jack at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

"Yes certainly [that rematch can happen]. Things have got to fall into place to make that sort of fight happen, but if I was a gambling man I would say it will happen," said Groves to Sky Sports.

"For me, I've got to go out and win this month, win a world title, and then we can talk sensibly about a James DeGale fight. He would love to throw some punches at me and likewise I would love to throw some back at him, so it makes sense to do it.

"If we don't manage to sign for a fight, we will end up doing a spar one day down the Dale [Youth ABC] and not get paid for it, and no one is even going to see it. We want people to see it, so yeah we'll get that fight signed."
