WBA "regular" middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (20-0, 17KOs) and his manager Maximilian Hermann, are disputing the recent press release by German promotional company Universum, which states that a Hamburg court had validated Golovkin's promotional contract with their company.

"I do not trust Universum. I will never fight for Universum," Golovkin said.

Today's decision is just a decision of the court of first instance. And this decision is false. We will appeal against this judgement as soon as we get the statement with their the grounds for the decision. Gennady terminated the contract with Universum due to the fact that Universum deliberately tried to damage his career," Hermann said. 

"The termination of the contract with Universum is still in effect and we are convinced that we will be successful in the next instance. It is certain that Gennady will never fight for Universum again. There was, and is, no basis for any cooperation. I think we will find a solution with [Universum CEO] Peter Kohl."
