Super bantamweight contender Genaro Garcia (36-8, 20KOs) is hoping to bounce back and get his career in order. The 34-year-old Mexican fighter has been inactive since getting stopped by Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. in seven round in November 2009. Prior to that, he challenged champion Toshioki Nishioka and also got stopped in that contest. He returns on Saturday in Tlalnepantla, Mexico, against Jesus Santillan (4-8, 3 KOs).
Garcia has some very good wins on his record, which inclide former champion Rafael Marquez, tough Miguel Roman and other Mexican contenders.
"Back then I felt invincible and had more confidence in my strength and I did not care much about learning defense, which I lacked in my title fights against Hozumi Hasegawa, Luis Perez, and finally with Toshiaki Nishioka," he acknowledged.
"I will try to fight often. Now the important thing is to beat Jesus Santillan, which I hope in the early rounds so I can return to action in February. The idea is to fight once or twice per month."
