Eriberto “Yukka” Gejon who battles Japan’s WBA minimum weight champion Yutaka Niida in a title fight on Sunday “looked sharp and well-prepared” according to well known matchmaker, boxing manager and journalist Joe Koizumi.

Gejon had two sparring sessions with WBC No. 10 ranked Japanese Teruo Misawa. The lanky Filipino who will have ring idol Manny Pacquiao at special ringside to inspire him said he was “in good shape and will prove how good I am on Sunday.”

Gejon, ranked No. 2 by the WBA  is undefeated with a ring record of 21-0-1 with 13 knockouts. Niida has a record of 18-1-3 with 8 knockouts. The fight will be held in Yokohama.

Pacquiao said he will leave for Yokohama on Friday along with Gejon’s manager Rex “Wakee” Salud and hopes that Gejon who has a four inch height advantage over the champion will give the Philippines a second world title to go along with Brian Viloria’s WBA light flyweight crown which he won via a sensational first round KO of Mexico’s Eric Ortiz last September 11.
