Ribe, Denmark - Lightweights Geir Ingen Joergensen, 28-2, and Tommi Schmidt, 6-3, headlined a small show sanctioned by the "pirates", the GBA, German Boxing Association, who of course also have their own world title, the GBC and the vacant 135 lb title was at stake. Joergensen won a split decision after twelve hard fought rounds on scores of 116-113 and 117-113 and 114-113 for Schmidt. It was first announced as if Schmidt had won but it was then discovered that one judge had gotten the corners wrong - on top of that this judge was first timekeeper but the became judge when the real judge didn´t show up, thus the supervisor became the timekeeper and the promoter-supervisor.

Well, in the ring it was a tough fight with the limited Schmidt showing a lot of heart as he kept attacking the more skilled Joergensen, who picked him off and seemed headed for a clear points win despite fading in the final rounds. Schmidt was cut by the right ear in the first and went down after a bodyshot at the end of the sixth but no count was issued. Geir had a point deducted in the tenth for pushing.

The less said about the undercard the better but Danish middleweight Kasper Iversen took out one Ali Ben Rhoumi in the first of a gross mismatch.

Troja Boxing, Larsen Boxing and the GBA will return to Ribe in August for another show.
