International Boxing Federation world middleweight champion Daniel Geale says Anthony Mundine will have to do a lot more than beat Shane Mosley in order to earn a third fight. Geale defends his belt against Darren Barker on August 18, while Mundine is trying to finalize a deal to face Mosley. Geale avenged his only career loss earlier this year after winning a twelve round decision over Mundine.
''At this stage, I'd be very surprised,'' Geale said to The Age. ''If Anthony comes out and challenges somebody very highly-ranked it could possibly be considered. 'I proved against Anthony I'm the best middleweight in Australia, and if he wants to challenge he needs to prove he's up to that level.''
''It's not a good fight for me. 'He was such a great fighter and I have a huge respect for Shane Mosley. Oscar De La Hoya is one of my favourite fighters, and for [Mosley] to defeat him twice took some skills. But, Mosley coming out [here] … I'd question if it was just for the money.''
