Gennady Golovkin is considered one of the best punchers in boxing. And so Daniel Geale, who challenges Golovkin on July 26 at Madison Square Garden, is often asked who’s hit him the hardest.

He’s not sure what the answer is regarding fight night, but he knows that the biggest puncher he’s been in with while sparring is super-middleweight titleholder Sakio Bika.

“I’ve done a lot of sparring with Sakio Bika… and that guy punches like a mule,” Geale told BoxingScene.com last month. “He’s got probably one of the most powerful punches. He hits you sometimes everywhere. He just gets very wild. He hurts you everywhere.”

He feels that the past sparring with Bika has helped him in a way to be ready for what he may end up taking against Golovkin.

“He’s [Bika’s] helped me prepare for big fights, and every time I’ve stepped into the ring, I’ve been confident against anybody, because I’ve got that behind me,” Geale said.
