GBM Sports, a boxing promoter based in the United Kingdom, will no longer have its shows streamed on DAZN.

“I would like to begin by thanking DAZN for a productive and successful 18 months working together,” GBM Sports executive Izzy Asif wrote in a note posted by his company on social media. “We valued the opportunity and trust to showcase our events on a global platform and appreciated the professionalism shown throughout the partnership. As that agreement has now concluded and has not been renewed, we reflect with pride on what was achieved during that period.

“Of course the outcome is disappointing. Anyone who has built something from nothing will understand how much goes into it, the sacrifices, the pressure, the responsibility to fighters, staff and fans. During this period, our events performed strongly on the platform while our digital channels continued to grow. I am proud of the audiences reached, the momentum built, and the standard delivered, all achieved through organic development from the ground up.

“In just four years, GBM has gone from having no television deal, no major backers and no shortcuts, to promoting a world title fight, delivering a stadium show, reviving tournament boxing, and being recognised by Boxing News as Promoter of the Year 2025 runner-up, finishing second only to Turki Alalshikh. Every one of those milestones was achieved through relentless hard work, belief and ambition, not privilege, politics or protection.

“I also want to personally thank the British Boxing community. The support shown to me as a promoter, and to GBM as an outfit, has never gone unnoticed, and I am sincerely grateful for it. We are currently in active discussions with a number of platforms and broadcasters, and I am hopeful that we will be able to share some news very soon…”

GBM Sports’ deal with DAZN kicked off in June 2024. Its title fight was last May, when Terri Harper successfully defended her lightweight title against Natalie Zimmermann.
