Birmingham’s Frankie Gavin makes the maiden defence of his newly won WBO Inter-Continental belt welterweight against Sheffield’s Curtis Woodhouse on Frank Warren’s world title bill at the ECHO Arena, Liverpool on July 16th.  A Gavin-Woodhouse fight seemed to be on the cards late last year only for Peter McDonagh to upset the applecart by handing Curtis a point’s defeat in October.

The former footballer pits his 15-2 (10) record against Gavin’s unblemished 10-0 (8) slate in a fight that is guaranteed to produce fireworks.  It joins Tony Bellew Commonwealth light-heavyweight rematch with Ovill McKenzie and Nicky Burns’ WBO super-featherweight defence against Nicky Cook on a big night in Liverpool, with prospects Joe Selkirk and Rocky Fielding providing further local support.
