Boxingscene reached out to junior welterweight contender Frankie "Gato" to get his thoughts on Saturday's clash between Victor Ortiz and Nate Campbell. Figueroa has been training and sparring with Campbell.  "Nate is in great shape vicious and hungry to make a statement.  With me preparing him he is at the top of his game mentally and physically.". Both men have been going at it with ferocity in camp. Figueroa has a fight lined up on May 21st versus unbeaten prospect Ruslan Provodnikov."

"This training has been great for both Nate and myself. I expect Nate to beat Victor Ortiz. Nate is sharp and looking really strong." Ortiz-Campbell is looked at as a must win for both fighters by most boxing pundits. Campbell is trying to rebound from a no decision versus Tim Bradley in a fight in which many felt he could have and should have continued even though he had lost all three rounds that he fought. Ortiz is coming off two consecutive victories but is still looking to shake the quitter label that many boxing insiders have applied to him since his knock out loss to Maidana last year. The fight where he made the infamous comments about deserving better than the beating he took.
