WBC featherweight champion Gary Russell Jr. (28-1, 17 KOs) is a man on a mission - hungry for a big fight.
If Russell is unable to secure a significant fight at 126-pounds, then he plans to move up to super featherweight.
Russell is managed by Al Haymon - who also manages the majority of the big names at the weight - including WBA champion Leo Santa Cruz, Abner Mares, Carl Frampton, IBF champion Lee Selby, Jesus Cuellar and Oscar Escandon.
Russell was back in the ring last month, when he demolished Escandon in a mandatory defense.
The other recognizable names at the weight are not exactly running to face Russell, who is considered to be the most dangerous fighter in the weight class due to his combination of speed and power.
His sole defeat was a twelve round decision loss to Vasyl Lomachenko, who many consider to be the best pound-for-pound fighter in the sport. Lomachenko now holds a world title at 130-pounds - and Russell certainly wants a rematch.
Another fighter on Russell's list, is Santa Cruz. The Mexican champion is likely returning in the fall for a mandatory defense against Abner Mares.
"I definitely would love to handle the division that I’m in right now. If we don’t get an opportunity to receive what we want, then I definitely plan on moving up. Regardless of how the plan might unfold, at the end of my career, me and Mr. Lomachenko will definitely meet again," Russell told On The Ropes Boxing Radio.
"I would love to fight Leo Santa Cruz because we competed in the past, I stopped him from being able to compete in the Olympic trials. We were in the finals and I competed against Leo and he said he wanted the possibility to avenge the loss that I gave him in the amateurs. I would love to give him that opportunity, lets unify these titles."
