Ballys Atlantic City, New Jersey - In a cruiserweight contest, USBA world champion Garrett Wilson (11-5-1, 5 KOs) saved himself from a possible decision loss by scoring a twelfth round knockout over Chuck Mussachio (17-2-2, 5 KOs). A single right hand stunner was all Wilson needed to save himself from possible defeat. At the time of the stoppage, two of the three judges had Mussachio ahead, with scores of 105-104, 107-102, while the third had it for Wilson with 105-104.
In the co-feature, rising welterweight prospect Ronald Cruz (15-0, 12 KOs) stopped Anges Adjaho (25-7, 14 KOs) in the fifth round. Adjaho went down twice and couldn't keep Cruz away as he took punishment until the referee stepped in to wave it off.
