Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. (49-2-1, 32KOs) has set his sights on a 2016 showdown with Badou Jack (20-1-1, 12KOs), who holds the WBC's championship at 168-pounds.

The last time they only had five weeks to work together. This time they will work together for more than two months, to prepare for that particular fight.

There haven't been any official discussions for the fight, according to Chavez Jr. himself. Both fighters did inform the WBC of their desire to face each other.

"I'm happy that Julio has this mindset [of a long, hard camp], because working for five weeks with a new trainer is not the same as working for two and a half months in our second time together. I am sure that you are now going to see a big difference and I am seeing these things. We will have more than enough time to plan well for the fight with Jack," Garcia told ESPN Deportes.

"We're going to see a better Julio. He's changed his way of being, his habits, and he is very focused on being a top pugilist and that's what he needed because he has the qualities and above all, the talent. He just needed the dedication and discipline. We are going to be focused on the camp. Badou Jack is not going to be an fight easy. It's a dangerous fight. But with a lot of motivation we going to try to beat him and I know that Julio has all of the weapons to achieve this."
