WBO interim-junior flyweight champion Ramon Garcia Hirales (15-1, 8KOs) has promised to do a lot of damage to Saturday's opponent Jesus Geles (11-1, 5KOs). This will be the first contest for Garcia outside of Mexico. He will go to Geles' backyard at the Coliseo Bernado Caraballo in Cartagena, Colombia.
Earlier in the week, Geles promised a victory to his countrymen and said Garcia was very overrated. The champion was very angry when the comments got back to him. Garcia has been doing very well in his career, with his recent victories coming against Johnriel Casimero, Manuel “Chango” Vargas and Omar “Pastor” Soto.
"I'll cut off his head on his own land. I did not see anything from him in the fight where he beat [Omar] Soto. I'll knock him out in less than five rounds," Garcia told reporters.
