Veteran trainer Robert Garcia is standing firm to his opinion that former world champion Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) will make things very tough for WBC middleweight champion Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez (46-1-1, 32KO).

The fight will happen this Saturday at the new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Khan, a former world champion at junior welterweight, is moving up by eight-pounds to a catch-weight of 155.

When the fight was announced in February, Khan was quickly labeled as the underdog with Canelo being viewed as the much bigger man. Canelo rehydrates to over 170-pounds on fight night and there are lingering questions over the durability of Khan's chin. The British boxer has been knocked out in lower weight classes and Canelo is a strong fighter with a good punch.

"It's a strange combination, Khan is a welterweight going up to middleweight, but also Canelo is fighting as a middleweight without being a middleweight. I think it's a good combination, because both are good fighters. Khan can move in the ring , has good footwork, and possibly he can trouble Canelo," Garcia told ESPN Deportes.

"A lot of people do not like this [fight] combination, but Khan is taller than Canelo, moves well, he's very fast with both hands and feet and a smart fighter. I'm not saying he will win the fight because Canelo is a good fighter, but is it going to be tough. Nobody said anything when Mayweather and Pacquiao refused to fight [Khan]. He's been looking for this kind of fight and we can not blame him. He is looking for a great career opportunity and now he's earned that respect."
