A classic all Mexican great ring war is shaping up between Ganigan López and Mario “Dragoncito” Rodríguez, in Mexico's second City.

This attractive card is being put together by Canelo Promotions, Televisa, Fox Deportes y Grupo Modelo. It'll take place in Polideportivo “Río de Janeiro” this Saturday. The fisticuff action starts at 6:30 p.m sharp.

The card stars Ramón “Inocente Álvarez  vs. undefeated Jorge “Pilón” Lara. Yet,
Ganigan López (#5 WBC) vs. Mario Rodríguez (# 8 WBC ex world champion) will be a crucial stepping stone for the winner.

“Maravilla” López (23-5, 15 KOs) comes to this fight, fresh from a convincing points victory against teak tough Filipino Mateo Handig. While “Dragoncito” Rodríguez (16-8-4, 11 KOs) came up with the goods against Odilón Zaleta, proving himself the marginally brighter spark, with a split decision, after ten fiery rounds.

The prize in both their sights is the WBC light flyweight title. They're disputing the vacant WBC Americas belt.
