BoxingScene.com was advised by Top Rank CEO Bob Arum that Yuriorkis Gamboa (17-0, 15 KOs) is still on schedule to fight Celestino Caballero (33-2, 23 KOs) on either July 17 or July 24 in Las Vegas, and HBO will televise. Caballero has to get past Daud Yordan (26-0, 19 KOs) on April 10 to get to the dance.

If Yordan pulls off the upset, Arum would welcome the possibility of having him face Gamboa.

A possible co-feature to Gamboa-Caballero could come in the form of Humberto Soto (52-7-2, 32 KOs) defending his WBC lightweight title against mandatory Anthony Peterson (30-0, 20 KOs). Arum had originally planned to make Soto-Peterson the co-feature to Miguel Cotto-Yuri Foreman on June 5. The plan fell apart when Soto advised Top Rank that he wanted to make his first defense in Mexico, and then fight Peterson.

"Soto wants to take fight in his hometown. If Soto and Peterson are ready by then, it's one possibility," Arum told BoxingScene.com.
