Young Hungarian lightweight hope Gabor Veto remains unbeaten, stretching his winning streak to 9-0 with 8 wins coming by way of knockouts or TKO’s.

Veto, a former member of the Hungarian amateur national team gave glimpses of his punching power by effectively hammering German-Iranian Mohesen Moeadian in the second round of a scheduled ten round bout to win a WBC Youth lightweight title eliminator  at the picturesque Castle of Varpalota in Hungary before some 6,000 cheering fans.

Veto used his vaunted left jab and quick combinations to rattle Moradian who was knocked down twice, forcing referee Istvan Kovacs to call a halt at 2:32 of the second round.

With the loss, Maradin dropped to 3-2 with 1 knockout.

In a congratulatory message to Veto, World Boxing Council president Don Jose Sulaiman said  “Gabor really has the makings of a champion - he is one for the future, for sure. The WBC will be fully opened for him.”

The 20 year old Veto’s clash with the 19 year old “Momo” Moradin was his ninth fight this year. He turned pro early in 2009 and scored a 2nd round TKO over Arthur Hambarozumyan in his pro debut on February 21.

In his last fight Veto scored a 6th round TKO over Enrico Lauricella.

Handled by Damon De Berry of Optimum Sports Agency, it is clear that Veto is being matched against comparatively inexperienced opponents in an effort to build his confidence and his career.
