Frank Warren, promoter for WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, is far from pleased with what he calls "excuses" coming from Deontay Wilder.

Fury made a career statement back in February, when he dropped Wilder twice and stopped him in the seventh round of their rematch to capture the WBC world title at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

After that fight, Wilder stated in interviews that his ring-walk outfit, which he said weighed 40-pounds, had weakened his legs and made him exhausted by the third round.

Wilder more recently revealed that he was injured and needed surgery on his left biceps after the fight.

"It's just pathetic. To even be coming up with those ridiculous excuses is just...," Warren told IFL TV.

"Look, you get beat, you get beat. If anybody should be complaining, it should be Tyson Fury after the first fight when he got robbed. That's the only debate in either of these two fights. First fight he got robbed and the second fight he took him to school.

"He outboxed him, he out-gamed him, he out-punched him and he showed another side of his boxing skills. [Wilder] should just get on with it and move on. If he wants the third fight, let's get it on and he can prove his point in the ring. I don't think he will.

"Before the fight he never complained about any injuries, he said he trained really well for the fight. I'm surprised with Deontay, because I've got a lot of time for him."

There will be a trilogy fight in the fall, as Wilder has exercised an immediate rematch clause. Initially, the fight was going to land on July 18th. Because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the fight has been pushed back to the target month of October.
