Frank Warren, who promotes WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, believes his man would finish division rival Anthony Joshua in six rounds.

Earlier this year, Fury and Joshua agreed in principle to a two-fight deal for 2021 - with a 50-50 monetary split.

Fury was scheduled to fight on December 5th, but the ring return was pushed back to the first quarter of next year.

On the other end, Joshua will hit the ring on December 12, when he defends his WBO, WBA, IBF, IBO heavyweight titles against mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev.

Fury was last in the ring back in February, when he stopped Deontay Wilder in seven rounds.

The plan for Fury's next fight will depend on the outcome of a legal claim from Wilder, who is trying to enforce a contractual rematch clause.

Whether it happens now or later, Warren is backing Fury to take Joshua down.

“I don’t see him losing to Joshua. You look at them and think who’s the better boxer? Tyson Fury. Who’s got the better jab? Tyson Fury. Who’s the better mover? Tyson Fury," Warren told Standard Sport.

“Who’s got the better punch? Tyson showed in the last fight with [Deontay] Wilder what he’s capable of. I really think that if we get it on, I genuinely believe he will stop Joshua, and in the first half of the fight, too.”

Warren would prefer to stage the bout in a huge stadium, with some type of crowd - a hard thing to do with the pandemic raging.

“Both would love to have it in London. It should take place in London, and Wembley would be great for it. COVID might be the problem, so it depends what happens with that," Warren said.

“This needs a crowd – this is the Olympic Games, the Euros of our sport all combined. I genuinely think it’s the biggest sporting event in England since England won the World Cup.”
