MGM Grand, Las Vegas, NV - On Saturday night lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (28-0-1) returns to the ring against unbeaten contender Otto Wallin (20-0). The fight takes place at the T-Mobile Arena and will be streamed live on the ESPN+ App.
He met with the press on Tuesday at his public workout to discuss the showdown.
On of the topics discussed is the quick turnaround for Fury, who last fought three months ago when he crushed an over matched Tom Schwarz in two rounds.
This will be the 31-year-old Fury's fifth fight since he dethroned long reigning heavyweight champion Wladimir Kltischko. In addition to becoming the lineal champion, Fury captured the WBO, WBA, IBF and IBO titles. He would never defend those titles as an addiction to alcohol and cocaine led to a two and a half year ring hiatus.
With just three months in between fights, Fury has spent most of 2019 in the gym.
"I have just been training, training and just a little bit more training along with dedication, sacrifice and will. That is all it takes," Fury stated.
Fury had two quick tuneups to start off his comeback before he faced WBC champion Deontay Wilder last December in a fight that ended in a disputed split draw. Fury lost over 130 pounds in his training camps leading up to the Wilder bout.
When asked if he is a better fighter now than when he defeated Klitschko, Fury candidly said that he didn't really know.
"Listen, we are going to find out. It is a long road. I am just enjoying day by day. One day at a time. That is all we need," Fury stated.
