WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (27-1, 20 KOs) discussed a number of subjects during a recent interview at radio.thescore.com, including his split with promoter Mick Hennessy, his thoughts on IBF champion Lucian Bute, a possible television deal with Sky Sports, a fight with middleweight Sergio Martinez and more. Froch returns on June 4th in a Super Six semi-finals bout against Glen Johnson at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
ON HIS FREE AGENT STATUS
-"Right now I'm representing myself, then after I win the Super Six I will talk to someone in England"
WHY DID HE SPLIT FROM PROMOTER MICK HENNESSY
-"Yes, (not getting the exposure in the UK) is one of the reasons. This is a less than amicable split (with Hennessy)"
POSSIBLE TELEVISION DEAL
-"It's looking like I'm doing a deal with Sky TV to have my next fight there. We're 90% confident"
THOUGHTS ON LUCIAN BUTE
-"I'm not a big fan of Lucian Bute. How can he be ranked above me?"
POSSIBLE FIGHT WITH SERGIO MARTINEZ
-"If Martinez could come up to Super Middleweight, I'd love that fight. He deserves respect but I'd beat him in style"
