Former two time super middleweight king Carl Froch (28-2, 20KOs) is feeling pretty confident about his chances to defeat IBF 168-pound champion Lucian Bute (30-0, 24KOs) on May 26th at the Nottingham Arena. Froch, who lost to Andre Ward and Mikkel Kessler in the Super Six Boxing Classic, is laughing at the critics who completely count him out in the fight.
Based on Bute's run of opponent, Froch is not impressed and doesn't expect any serious issues with becoming a three time champion before a loud arena packed with his loyal Nottingham fans.
“No names stick out on his record. It’s hard to gauge him. He’s not proven at the world level. This is his defining fight. To say I won’t beat Lucian Bute is ludicrous and ridiculous. I feel I can beat him, no problem at all. I’ve got experience at the top level," Froch told reporters in Canada.
