On Saturday night at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlanic City, WBC super middleweight champion Carl Froch (28-1, 20 KOs) won a tought twelve round majority decision over former light heavyweight champion Glen Johnson (51-15-2, 35 KOs) in the seminfinals of the Super Six World Boxing Classic. The scores were 117-111, 116-112 and 114-114.

Following the win, Froch spoke to BoxingScene.com about a possible fight with undefeated IBF champion Lucian Bute.

On why Bute was reportedly seen showing support to Glen Johnson, Froch told BoxingScene the Canadian star is scared of a possible bout and wanted Johnson to knock him off in order to avoid a future showdown.

“The reason he wanted Johnson to win was to get me out of the division. He’s scared and worried about fighting me, Bute knows I absolutely smash him to bits, it’s a fight he knows he loses – that’s why the fights not happening and that’s reason he didn’t come into the Super Six,” Froch told BoxingScene.com. “I’m coming for his IBF Belt, and If I ever meet him ,I’ll be taking it off him, Mark My words!”
