Super middleweight Carl Froch spoke to our good friends at livefight.com and disclosed that his promoter Mick Hennessy is in discussions with Sauerland Event to stage the Arthur Abraham bout in Nottingham. The fight is set for the third stage in the Super Six Boxing Classic.
"We're exploring all of our options at the moment, but we've been in touch with local football grounds in Nottingham with the prospect of putting on this fight in the summer for the fans of Great Britain to get to," Froch said.
There has been a big dispute over where to stage Abraham vs. Froch. Abraham's side wants it in Germany and Froch wants it in Nottingham. Switzerland has been mentioned as a neutral location. Froch said his side will make a serious financial offer to make the fight in Nottingham.
"Right now my mind is focused on two things. The impending birth of my baby in June and wrapping up the Abraham fight in Nottingham." said Froch.
"I'm taking a short break in the UK to recharge the batteries and then will be whipping myself into shape to give Arthur a whipping. It's gonna be an absolute barn stormer, that really does not need to be sold to anyone.. and I'm raging to let some heavy artillery go!"
