According to a report in Golzka , super middleweight Carl Froch is not obligated to receive more money for his encounter with Arthur Abraham on August 21. Froch is not happy about the fight possibly taking place in Germany. He wants the fight to take place in Nottingham, England.

In order to secure him for a German venue, Froch has made a demand to receive at least "one million" pounds as payment. If the promoters of Abraham, Sauerland Event, attempt to make the fight in Germany, Froch has theatened to withdraw from the competition.

Golzka spoke to sources familiar with the agreements signed by the boxers to participate in Showtime's super middleweight tournament, the Super Six Boxing Classic. Sources have confirmed to the paper that every fighter in the tournament is bound to the purse amounts in the agreement. Showtime and Sauerland Event are not obligated to give Froch an amount that is higher than the listed sum in the signed Super Six agreement.

According to the information provided to the paper, there are clauses within the Super Six agreements to prevent a fighter from withdrawing to do something else. If Froch withdraws, not due to injury or retirement, there could be legal issues for violating the signed agreement that binds him to the Super Six tournament. The agreement for Abraham-Froch directs the fight to take place in Europe. Neither fighter can be forced to fight in the opponent's home country. To settle the dispute, the fight may have to happen on neutral ground.
