British super middleweight rivals Carl Froch and George Groves were unable to keep things civil during a televised interview to discuss their highly anticipated rematch on May 31st. Last year Groves challenged Froch for the WBA/IBF titles and stunned the sport with his much better than expected performance. He dropped Froch hard in the first round and hurt him in several of the rounds that followed. Groves slowed down late in the fight and began to take punishment in the ninth. After getting stunned in that round, the referee jumped in too quickly as Froch tried to finish him off. The IBF agreed with Groves' complaint of a quick stoppage, and ordered them to have a rematch.

Their mutual promoter, Eddie Hearn, did not intervene or take sides as the live Sky Sports audience watched on.

Groves: He says he don't keep a diary. Maybe someone needs to keep a diary for him, because he couldn't remember much in the last fight. Even at ringside, he couldn't remember much. He couldn't remember getting dropped. Hopefully someone has written that in his diary.

Froch: I think you have a bit of amnesia yourself, because you don't remember getting flattened by Kenny Anderson, and both by Paul Smith, struggled in a few fights yourself. You talk about me not giving you the rematch. You whinged yourself into the rematch. You should stop. You have short term memory, selective memory. You should be happy, get yourself into the gym and look forward to the pasting that you are going to receive.

Groves : Carl keeps talking about whinging. I didn't appeal for a rematch with the WBA. I didn't appeal for a rematch with the Board of Control because they have no authority to install a rematch with the IBF and WBA, because they don't represent those belts.

Froch: (cutting in) Yes you did, you windged to the Boxing Board of Control. I hate talking over people but you're trying to make out that you haven't been doing whinging. All that you've been is wingding. You are a whinger and a moaner by nature. A little birdy in your camp told me that you whinge about your bald swede. Anyone who does that is just pathetic. Just look forward to your pasting.

Groves: The members of my camp if Paddy Fitzpatrick, who is my trainer. Mike who is here now and who I don't think is much of a gossip, and my conditioning coach Barry. Which one of those three told you Carl? Which one?

Froch: I have no interest in talking to you. You're boring me.
